Seniors get a break after being evicted from their living facility

Just under 200 senior citizens have found themselves with eviction notices after Hurricane Harvey. They all live at 2100 Memorial -- low income housing for seniors and the disabled.

Alan Bernstein with the Mayor's office says the residents definitely have to move out of 2100 Memorial. A second inspection has been done and two-thirds of the water system is not working, all of the fire safety equipment is not working, and the electrical system is compromised.

However, Bernstein says people will get plenty of time to move out, not five days as they were previously told. They will get physical help and financial assistance to move out, but they do have to move.
