HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Is President Donald Trump's administration empowering more Americans to be anti-immigrant bigots? A 92-year-old man from Mexico was visiting Los Angeles when he was brutally beaten. Rodolfo Rodriguez, who survived the attack, says he bumped into a young girl as he was trying to get around her. That’s when he says a woman, believed to be the girl’s mother, threw him to the ground and started hitting him with her fists — and she didn't stop there. The woman then picked up a brick and struck him with it.
A witness says a group of men soon joined the woman in the assault as they yelled at Rodriguez to "go back to your country."
Another video captured an exchange between a woman and a Latino landscaper in California as she yelled racial slurs at him and quoted President Trump's remarks that some Mexicans are "rapists."
Community activist Deric Muhammad and FIEL director Cesar Espinosa discuss the incidents and others like them with Isiah Carey.
