Gun violence survivor serving on Mayor's Commission Against Gun Violence

Thirty-seven Houstonians are now on Mayor Sylvester Turner's Commission Against Gun Violence.

Some include Police Chief Art Acevedo, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, and Harris County DA Kim Ogg.

The goal is to come up with a proposal on gun safety changes.

The mayor has actually been planning the commission since March, just after the Parkland school shooting, but now was the time to introduce it after the Santa Fe tragedy where 10 people were gunned down.

On the Factor to talk about this is Kendra Willis, who survived gun violence and is now serving on the mayor’s commission.
