Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg wants you to have a seat at the prosecutor's table.
She delivered nine community action plans today each formed by an ad hoc committee of local volunteers. The goal: to restore Houstonians faith in the justice system and cut down on crime.
Some folks in Sunnyside, an area that's seen its share of violence, say they'll believe it when they see results.
The reports include recommendations on things from officer involved shootings to evidence integrity.
The plans also include suggestions of more help for the mentally ill, less jail, and keeping nuisance offenders away from dangerous ones.
Community activist Deric Muhammad says Ogg’s new crime initiative doesn’t really add up. He’s on the Factor to talk about it.
