The best (and worst) cities in Texas for families
They say home is where the heart is, but is it the most family-friendly place to live?
A financial website ranked the best (and worst) cities for families in the Lone Star State to live in.
WalletHub compared Texas’ 112 largest cities and ranked them in four categories: 1) Family Life & Fun, 2) Education, Health & Safety, 3) Affordability and 4) Socioeconomic Environment.
The website used quality of a school system, number of local family attractions, housing affordability, unemployment rate and other factors to rank the cities.
The top 10 most family-friendly cities were:
- Southlake
- University Park
- Colleyville
- Allen
- Flower Mound
- Frisco
- Coppell
- Keller
- Pearland
- Cedar Park
Fort Worth was ranked 62 while Dallas ranked 107.
But it’s not all bad news for the big cities.
Dallas and Fort Worth tied with Houston, San Antonio, and Austin for the city with the most family-friendly attractions.
