Rep. Speier on detention facilities: If it were a dog kennel, ‘It would be shut down'
Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D-San Mateo) recently visited immigration detention facilities along the Southern U.S. border. She joined us via Washington for a live interview on KTVU’s The Four on Wednesday.
She described the conditions she saw on the tour of the first processing center of cells as “subhuman.”
“There were 40 men in each of these cells crammed in like sardines. They had to take turns lying on the concrete floor. They told me that they had been there for 40 days without a shower and without the benefit of being able to brush their teeth.” Speier added that the cells would normally house up to four or five adults.Read the full article
Huggies puts fathers on diaper packages for the first time
In a historic first, Huggies is featuring dads on the front of its diaper packages.

Bush Airport celebrates 50 years since Apollo 11
George Bush Intercontinental Airport hosted a celebration Wednesday in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission which brought the first man to the moon.
United Airlines brought NASA members, Houston leaders and Space Center Houston staff on a commemorative flight to the Space City. They held an in-flight celebration of the Apollo 11 lunar landing before touching down in Houston Wednesday afternoon. The plane taxied between two water cannons.
Balloons hung around a large mural of a pink astronaut in Terminal C. The art piece celebrates the plan announced by the Trump Administration this year to send the first woman to the moon by 2024.Read the full article
