AUSTIN, TX - No more "Fall Back", "Spring Forward?" A new Senate Bill 238 would attempt to end Daylight Savings Time in Texas. If passed, it would take effect November 5, 2017.
Some Texas lawmakers said that they have said they may be in favor of the bill. Representative James White said “I’m highly considering it. I filed a bill last session to at least have some folks look at this issue, to take into consideration if it could help businesses and schools. I am very open to this, but of course I’ll have to look at the bill first”.
White went on to say “I am for anything that simplifies life for our citizens. If it does that, I am generally for it, especially when it involves getting government out of the way. If it’s done in the right way, this amounts to government deregulation and I’m in favor of that”.
Currently, every state, with the exception of Hawaii and most of Arizona, observes Daylight Saving Time.
