Texas Bullet Train from Houston to Dallas now closer to reality

If Houston Mayor Turner's projections are correct, Houstonians could be hopping on a Texas bullet train from Houston to Dallas in about six years.  Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and  the private company, Texas Central signed what's called a memorandum of understanding today.

This agreement will allow city staff members and the private company to hash out details and specific agreements. All of those documents would still have to go to the city council for a vote before anything is finalized.  The bullet train is expected to cut down the four hour commute between Houston and Dallas, to just 90 minutes.

"There's a lot of work ahead with Texas Central and the city and we're all working well together to make the most of this important opportunity and if things stay on course, construction could start by the end of 2018," Mayor Turner said.
