Teens from The Woodlands charged with burglary, criminal mischief in Florida

- Deputies say two teens who drove from the Woodlands, Texas, to Walton County, Florida, are responsible for a multi-day crime spree including a hit and run, burglaries, and theft.

Mark Billiot, 18, and Donovan Estrada, 18, were arrested in Walton County, Florida, for burglary, multiple counts of vehicle burglary, criminal mischief over $1,000, and grand theft, the sheriff's office says.

The investigation began on Wednesday, when residents in Walton County reported their cars had been burglarized and a model home had been vandalized.

"While canvassing the area deputies located burned AAA papers in front of 27 Cinnamon Fern Lane near one of the victim’s property. Also located at the rear of the residence was a club head cover identified by a victim as possibly belonging to him," WCSO said in a press release.

In a driveway behind the home, investigators found a vehicle with damage matching the description and plate of a car involved in a hit-and-run on Monday,  deputies say.

Billiot and Estrada were taken into custody from the home. Investigators say the teens admitted to the burglaries during interviews.

The sheriff's office says the teens' use of Snapchat led to additional charges.

"Further investigation revealed, the two had used “Snapchat” to highlight their activity since arriving in Walton County. In the videos, Billiot and Estrada showoff multiple pairs of Ray-Bans sunglasses, which they claim to have purchased while in Panama City Beach. A Walton County Sheriff’s Office crime analyst discovered the same sunglasses had been stolen from suspects matching the description of Billiot and Estrada from Sunglass Hut at Pier Park in Panama City Beach. Panama City Beach Police was contacted and is following up on the case," WCSO said in a press release.
