1 suspect dead, 1 wounded after robbery attempt at jewelry store

One suspect is dead, one wounded and another is at large following an attempted robbery at a northwest Harris County jewelry store.

Deputies responded to the call around 2:45 p.m. in the 12100 block of Jones Road. Deputies say a suspect attempting to rob the jewelry store pistol whipped the manager, but the manager was able to grab a firearm. The manager and suspect exchanged gunfire, and one of the suspects was hit, the Harris County Sheriff's Office says.

Investigators say a trail of blood led to a car that was seen fleeing the scene. Investigators say one suspect was located at a hospital with a gunshot wound and a second suspect was found deceased nearby. Investigators believe both of the suspects are from the robbery attempt.
