Students head back to class in 18 Houston-area school districts
HOUSTON, TX - Thousands of students are headed back to class and ready to kick off a new year on Monday morning. More than a dozen districts are in session--from Santa Fe ISD to Humble. It's an especially emotional day on the campus of Santa Fe High School, with May's tragic school shooting still on the hearts and minds of students. When kids return to school at Santa Fe High School, multiple law enforcement agencies will be assisting to provide additional security for the school.
Several area school districts, including Humble were devastated after Hurricane Harvey.
The following school districts are opening on Monday:

- Pasadena ISD
- Pearland ISD
- Tarkington ISD
- Texas City ISD
