Student injured in Atascocita High School parking lot shooting

HUMBLE, Texas (FOX 26) — A 17-year-old suspect has been taken into custody after a student at Atascosita High School was shot in the campus parking lot at around 6:20 p.m. Thursday.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says Mikael Necciosup, 17, is facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says the 16-year-old junior student was shot while trying to buy a small amount of marijuana. He was shot in the foot and grazed near his hip area. He was alert and is expected to make a full recovery.

Students were on campus for after school activities, but no other injuries were reported.

 

Humble ISD released the following statement on Tuesday night:

School will be able to be held tomorrow as usual on the Atascocita High School campus. At the time of the incident, there were about 85 students on the campus for athletic and fine arts activities.  Students were kept safe in their areas until released by police, as a routine procedure.
