Spotted skunk gymnast scores a 10

- Believe it or not, this is a sign of aggression to scare off predators

This video posted to Instagram by the U.S. Department of the Interior on November 4 of a skunk doing a handstand is starting to go viral, and it’s not hard to see why.

According to Department of the Interior, this is something all spotted skunks can do as a warning mechanism before resorting to spraying. This case of skunk acrobatics was captured by a wildlife camera at the Saguaro National Park and time stamped June 28.

Like the other three groups of skunks, spotted skunks are capable of spraying a strong unpleasant scent as a form of defense. But before spraying, spotted skunks will sometimes go into a handstand and attempt to intimidate any would be aggressors like this wildlife camera, placed in Happy Valley by Biotech Nic Perkins, of National Parks Service
