Sorority girls filmed singing n-word in Kanye song face criticism

A University of New Hampshire sorority is facing backlash after some of its members were filmed shouting the N-word as they sang along to a Kanye West song.

The video of the Alphi Phi sorority members dancing and singing "Gold Digger" uncensored was posted to social media -- and it quickly went viral.

It was also posted on an anti-racism student Facebook group called "All Eyes on UNH."

Many students have condemned the sorority's "ignorant and insensitive" behavior.

Others have come to the defense of the sorority members, suggesting they meant no harm and were just singing along with a popular song.

TMZ reports that the university told the publication the Alpha Phi sisters showed "poor judgment" in the video, but that UNH is not looking into the matter. The rep told TMZ the initial report claiming UNH had opened an investigation was false -- and the sorority will not be disciplined.

The women of Alpha Phi have apologized, according to TMZ.

At this time, we cannot confirm what they said.
