Sexual assault under investigation at high school

An investigation is underway at Klein Forest High School after a student says she was physically and sexually assaulted after a volleyball game. The girl says it happened on a baseball field behind the campus on Tuesday night and involved several male students. Parents say they're concerned that they were not notified by the school.

Judy Rimato, Klein Independent School District associate superintendent for communications & planning, tells FOX 26 News that the girl in the case reported the assault to campus administrators on Wednesday. The girl sustained injuries including a black eye, according to several sources. Several of the male students accused of assaulting the girl were still in classes on Thursday, two days after the alleged assault took place, those same sources also tell FOX 26.

Parents say that they were never notified that the incident was even being investigated or that it may have taken place on school property.

"Klein Forest is very detailed about sending out information and we haven't gotten anything," says one parent.

Klein ISD released the following statement to FOX 26:

But for some parents, more needs to be done.

"It makes me feel terrible if something like this happened and the school system hasn't done anything to take it have some kind of justice brought it makes me feel horrible, honestly, that's terrible," said one father.
