Settlement reached between White Oak Music Hall and its neighbors over noise

An attorney announced on Tuesday that White Oak Music Hall has finally reached a settlement in the long legal battle with their northside neighbors over a noise issue. Attorney Cris Feldman, who represents the residents, said that the neighbors were optimistic by this new agreement.

The legal agreement limits when shows can be held, monitors sound levels, and protects school children preparing for tests. Feldman stated there are now specific limitations on how late shows can last on school nights and during STAAR testing nights. The White Oak Music Hall is located at  2915 N Main on Houston's Northside.

"This is a major first step for neighbors in the Near Northside to control sound coming from White Oak.  To be sure, residents are cautiously optimistic but will remain vigilant, and are prepared to hold White Oak fully accountable if this opportunity is blown", says Feldman "The settlement between the neighbors and White Oak is a ground breaking and novel solution, that will also hopefully assist city elected officials with finding solutions, rather than creating and ignoring problems."
