HOUSTON (FOX 26) - NASA is embarking on humanity's first visit to a star, and you can be part of the journey.
The Parker Solar Probe will explore the Sun this summer and NASA is inviting people from around the world to submit their names to be put on a microchip aboard the craft.
Your name can go along on the journey as the probe travels through the Sun’s atmosphere. The spacecraft is about the size of a small car. NASA says the primary goals for the trip are to explore how energy and heat move through the solar corona and also to learn about what accelerates the solar wind and solar energetic particles.
If you're interested, you'll need to submit your name and e-mail address to go.Nasa.gov/hotticket. Participants will also receive a printable ticket to commemorate the voyage.
