Security guard shot, killed in north Houston

Houston police released surveillance photos of a vehicle wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a security guard in north Houston late Saturday night.

Investigators say the photos show a white Ford Expedition fleeing the scene moments after the victim, Robert Marquez, 55, was shot.

 

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Rushcreek Drive. According to police, Marquez was working and driving in the area when he possibly encountered a white Ford Expedition SUV. Investigators say Marquez was approaching the suspect when the suspect fired several shots and then fled on foot. Witnesses told police the white SUV then fled the scene. Investigators believe the suspect was a passenger in the SUV.

Marquez was shot at least one time. He was taken to Houston Northwest Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
