Rodeo Houston ticket scam making the rounds on social media

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™

The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office is issuing a Community Alert regarding a person or persons selling stolen and cancelled Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo tickets over social media outlets. A report was made to the Sheriff’s Office about a Liberty County citizen who ordered season tickets which consisted of 80 tickets. Those  tickets were mailed to a former address and were not forwarded to the customer at the new address. When the customer advised the rodeo office the tickets were not received, the rodeo office cancelled the first order and resent a new set of tickets to the new address.

Evidently the first set of rodeo tickets that had been cancelled were stolen from the mail box and are now being sold on social media at hundreds of dollars over the face value of the actual value of the tickets. When a person buys the stolen and cancelled tickets and attempts to use them, they will find someone sitting in the same seats that they have tickets for as well.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone that may have information on who may have stolen these tickets or have been victims of this “scam” to contact the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office at (936)336-4500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-7867 with that information. Crime Stoppers can pay cash money for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible and your identity will remain confidential.
