Puppies found in trash can, rescued, available for adoption

Long Way Home Adoptables, based in College Station, is seeking loving permanent homes for a litter of month-old puppies who were initially found in a trash can in Huntsville.

Someone contacted Long Way Home Adoptables about the litter who were inside the trash can with a sign that read, "free but LEAVE TRASHCAN." A Huntsville-area animal control officer arrived to where the puppies were placed, secured them and contacted Long Way Home Adoptables to determine if the non-profit organization could take them in.

Long Way Home Adoptables was able to pick up the puppies and bring them to the organization's veterinarian. The puppies are now available for adoption.
