HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Prosecutors say it was in August 2015 when Shannon Miles shot and killed Harris County Deputy Darren Goforth. For many people, the crime just didn't make sense. What was the motive, the connection and the reason behind this senseless crime?
Because of Miles' past with mental health issues, Judge Susan Brown ordered an independent psychological evaluation of the man who faces capital murder charges. Anthony Osso, who represents Miles, tells FOX 26 News by phone that the report is ready to be handed over on Tuesday to the judge in the case. He describes that evaluation as a major development in the case.
