HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner says his initiative to fill the city's potholes has been successful so far. He's holding a breakfast with public works employees to give them a pep talk before they head out to work on more.
The city has already soft-launched the program to fix any reported potholes within one business day. The official start date of the program is next Tuesday.
We wanted to see if the program was working so, we reported a pothole to 3-1-1 without mentioning fox 26 and it was fixed the next day
The mayor's office says of the 550 potholes reported last week, 329 were filled.
They say the reason you don't see 100% with all 550 reported was because, some were duplicate reports for the same potholes and others were classified as a non-safety hazard.
