Police say pregnant woman stabbed, strangled

An autopsy performed on the body of Nita Moseley indicates that she died from multiple stab wounds and strangulation, according to a statement released by the La Marque Police Department. Her teen son is charged with murder in her death.

Officers arrived to Moseley's home on Fannin Street near Bonham Street in La Marque on Saturday and found her body.

Moseley's son was initially missing when police found the body but law enforcement officers found him on Sunday in Houston along with a black 2014 Nissan Maxima that was reported missing after a relative contacted police.

After La Marque police questioned the teen, the Galveston County District Attorney's Office charged him with the murder of his 33-year-old mother. Investigators at first did not say if the boy confessed, but have since said that he did provide a voluntary statement in which he confessed to causing his mother's death.

Police learned the boy traveled to Seguin before he had returned to Houston.

The autopsy conducted on Wednesday shows Moseley, who was no less than four months pregnant, was stabbed more than twenty times to her neck and back in addition to being strangled.

The teen is in custody at the Galveston County Juvenile Justice Center. Police have not established a motive for the murder. is still under investigation at this time. The son did provide a voluntary statement in which he confessed to causing the death of his mother.
