Deputies investigating shooting of alleged intruder by Spring homeownwer

SPRING, Texas (FOX 26) - Deputies are investigating a shooting in Spring where a homeowner says he shot an intruder.

Harris County Precinct 4 Constables responded to a call in the 2400 block of Blue Shadow at 4:15 p.m. Thursday. The homeowner said he shot a man who broke into his home while he was inside.

Harris County Sheriff's Office has taken over the investigation, and a spokesperson confirmed the homeowner knew the intruder.

A neighbor who declined to go on camera said the intruder is known in the area for riding his bicycle. The neighbor said the man on the bicycle got of the bike, ran to the home, busted inside, and the next thing he heard was several shots.

EMS pronounced the suspect dead.
