Four Jack in the Box robbery suspects in custody

Harris County deputies and Precinct 4 deputy constables have taken four people into custody in the armed robbery of a Jack in the Box restaurant, although the search continues for other suspects. Investigators are trying to determine if the robbery could be tied to other related cases in the area.

Law enforcement officers conducted a search for the suspects that spanned two Spring subdivisions following the Jack in the Box robbery reported at around 5:15 p.m. Monday on Cypresswood Drive near the North Freeway.

Witnesses told investigators that three males. one of them armed with a long gun and two others who carried handguns, jumped over the restaurant counters and stole money from the cash registers After a concerned citizen contacted law enforcement officers and told them about a red vehicle with people matching the description of the suspects and vehicle from the robbery, deputies found the vehicle and the contents inside matched what was stolen in the robbery case.

Residents of the Oaks of Devonshire and Enchanted Oaks subdivisions were encouraged to stay inside their homes while the search was in progress.

After the vehicle was found, a K-9 unit helped find three men and a woman who were taken into custody. One of the suspects was bitten by a canine officer and was taken to a hospital. A short while later, a carjacking was reported nearby and law enforcement officers set up a perimeter near the North Freeway-FM 1960 interchange where the carjacked vehicle was found.
