The George Bush Monument is a popular site where many are paying their respects after the passing of President George HW Bush. The popular landmark sits in downtown Houston on the corner of Franklin and Bagby. Rashi Vats spoke to people who made time to visit the monument less than 24 hours after news of his passing.
Portrait of young Harriet Tubman unveiled at National Museum of African American History and Culture
A new exhibit opened today at the National Museum of African American History and Culture. It's a never-before-seen photograph of one of the most famous women in U.S. history.
The Harriet Tubman most of us have come to know is from photographs of the abolitionist as an older woman — but on Monday, the Librarian of Congress and the director of the National Museum of African American History and Culture unveiled an image of the Underground Railroad conductor never before seen in public. It is the earliest known photo of Araminta Ross — better known as Harriet Tubman.
“When you look at that image, you suddenly see somebody who's vibrant. Somebody who you could imagine leading people through the wilds of freedom, actually spying for the union. Somebody who had that dedication and that strength,” said NMAAHC director Lonnie Bunch.Read the full article

First all-female spacewalk canceled
The history-making spacewalk was set to happen on Friday, March 29, with NASA astronauts Christina Koch and Anne McClain no longer conducting the spacewalk together.
Instead, Christina Koch and fellow NASA astronaut Nick Hague are now are preparing to conduct the second spacewalk Friday, March 29, after Hague and McClain conducted the first spacewalk in this series on March 22.
The change in astronaut assignments is due to spacesuit availability at the station. McClain wears a size medium in the hard upper torso section of her suit, and because only one suit of this size was available for Friday, Hague will be taking the other slot, according to a statement from NASA .Read the full article
