Pasadena-area shooting under investigation

Police are investigating a shooting where at least one law enforcement officer fired a weapon in Pasadena.

The shooting was reported before 4:30 p.m. on Southmore Avenue near Spooner Street. Pasadena police say no law enforcement officers were injured.

An officer was conducting a traffic stop and moved into the left lane. The suspect stopped the vehicle, opened the door and placed the right hand behind the back. When the suspect drew a pistol and pointed it at the officer, that officer was forced to fire gunshots.

The shooting was captured on body camera and surveillance videos.

The manager at nearby A-1 All American Pawn Shop tells FOX 26 News that the shooting was not related to operations at his store.
