One killed, another critically injured in north Houston shooting

- Sunday morning Rolando Mares and his family woke up to news that his niece Aluxes Mares, 20, had been killed.

We are told that she was hanging out at a Chulas Restaurant off Tomball with her boyfriend and another friend, when several men approached her.

"My niece said something to her boyfriend, there was a small altercation inside the restaurant but then at 2 o'clock when they were closing and all leaving, it broke out even worse and guns starting pulling out and shooting at each other", says Mares.

"For whatever reason that disturbance or alternation bled out here and it just seemed like a verbal disturbance inside, bled out here, we have two different shell casings which makes us believe there were two shooters", says Sergeant Joshua Horn with the Houston Police Department.

Marea died from a gunshot wound to the head. Her friend James Butanda, 26, was shot in the chest and was transported to an area hospital. He was last listed in critical condition.

Police provided surveillance pictures show three men that may have been involved with the shooting.

"If y'all have any information if this horrible crime to speak out, there is no need to hide anybody because eventually you will be found", says Mares.

Police ask anyone with any information to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
