After 18 years behind bars in Montgomery County, a man convicted of murder is being released.

It was back in 1998 when 41-year old Neal Hampton Robbins was arrested and later convicted in the death of his girlfriend's 17-month-old daughter, Tristan Skye Trivet.

The Montgomery County District Attorney said he did not have the evidence to try Robbins again for the death of the child, so the judge on the case released Robbins. The testimony of the former medical examiner came into question.

Pathologist Dr.  Patricia Moore said she could no longer stand behind her science that the baby girl was murdered. Robbins will be released from the Montgomery County jail on Thursday afternoon.
