PASADENA, Texas (FOX 26) - An officer has shot a suspect in the stomach as part of a narcotics investigation, a Pasadena Police Department spokesman has confirmed.
The shooting was reported at around 7 p.m. Wednesday on London Street near Prairie Avenue in Pasadena.
According to a Pasadena police spokesperson, officers from the narcotics division were serving a search warrant at a home for possession of a controlled substance.
Officers entered the residence. That's where, according to police, one of the officers was confronted by a man with a machete.
This man advanced on the officer. The suspect refused to drop the machete after being ordered to do so and was shot by an officer one time.
The wounded man was transported to an area hospital where he is receiving treatment. He is expected to survive his injuries.
