DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Family members have identified a young man who was shot to death during a home invasion in DeKalb County Thursday morning.
It happened in the 3200 block of Abbeywood Drive in Decatur shortly before 7 a.m.
According to DeKalb County police, a 24-year-old male was found dead at the scene. Loved ones identified the victim as Jeremy Riley, a student at Georgia State University.

Riley's family members said he was shot and killed while trying to protect his younger siblings from three gunmen who broke into their home.
Witnesses heard about eight gunshots and said a grey SUV was seen speeding off after the shooting. We're also told someone apparently tried to chase the gunman, and that ended with a possible crash near Interstate 20.
