HOUSTON (FOX 26) - It was described as a gruesome scene when investigators entered a home on Crooks Way Court in the Steeplechase community.
Investigators say a 66-year-old man and his wife, 60, were found shot to death in the office of their home.
Deputies say it was a clear case of murder-suicide after finding the bodies before noon today.
Our sources say it appears the wife was apparently working on the computer with headphones on when her husband walked behind her, pulled the trigger, and then shot himself.
The couple had not been heard from in two days, and that's when two former coworkers of the man came to check on them.
They found the back door open as well but deputies believe it was left open by the husband.
The man apparently is a a retired worker from the oil and gas industry.
He left the job two years ago.
Neighbors say as recently as December. the couple had a birthday party and there were no signs of trouble.
We do have the names of the couple but we're not releasing any information until the family has been notified.
