Mother terrified after man accused of murdering her daughter gets out of jail

Imagine seeing the man accused of killing your loved one posing on Instagram when you thought he was locked up behind bars.

Two Houston families don't have to imagine that—it happened to them over the weekend. Now they're demanding answers.

It was back in June when Lakeisha Lewis and her boyfriend Johnel Francis were shot and killed. Police arrested and charged 27-year-old Darrell Mitchell with the murders.

But the victims’ families were stunned to find out Mitchell was released from jail on a $100,000 bond over the weekend and was already on social media. The family wants answers.

A spokesperson for the district attorney's office says their victim's advocate has been in constant contact with the families, but that person didn't know Mitchell was released on bond Friday night.

As a condition of that bond, Mitchell cannot have any contact with the families, he must wear a GPS ankle monitor, and abide by a curfew.
