More than 60 cars' tires slashed in Galveston

It's not very often you see a whole street of cars with slashed tires, but that's what Juan Pineda says he woke up to Saturday morning.

“Around 6:30 one of my workers was knocking on my door that he was ready to go to work and he told me, 'oh your cars are flat'. I thought it was going to be one, maybe we have a flat tire, because usually it happens you know, I drive around with this truck and and I thought it was just going to be one flat tire. So surprise to me all of them were done,” says Pineda.

Elijah Scarlett, Pineda's neighbor says, "I had just put two front tires on, but luckily it was by my bedroom window so they just got my two back tires.”

The neighborhood called Galveston police and detectives confirmed at least 66 cars were damaged. Now they say they just want whoever did this or knows anything to come forward.

"Somebody is going around the island doing this on purpose. It’s not like they are taking revenge on somebody, I have no enemies, I’m a hard-working person work seven days a week,” says Pineda.

"People really don’t have money to be wasting like that, especially for somebody to just not have anything better to do,” Scarlett says.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Galveston Police Department. Pineda also says he has a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
