Missing 15-year-old girl: Family pleads for help

It has been an emotional week for a northeast Houston family who  is searching for their 15-year-old daughter.

Jasmine Martinez went missing on Thursday, Jan. 28.

Joe Martinez, her father, said he was just twenty minutes late picking her up Thursday from Sam Houston High School. He told FOX 26 when he got there she was nowhere to be found.

Her family said she rarely walks home from school, which may have been the case on Thursday since he was running late, so they are afraid of the worst.

All of her belongings—clothes, money, and bags are still at their home. Nothing of hers is missing or gives family and friends reason to believe she ran away. Her friends told the family she went to every class on Thursday and wasn't acting any differently.

Her phone is turned off and they've been trying to reach her for days. Martinez said the family is extremely close and he never thought this type of situation would happen.

HPD and HISD are now involved in the missing person case. Jasmine was last seen wearing a long black polo shirt, blue jeans, and glasses. If you have any information you are asked to call HPD at 832-394-1816
