Man offers to sell house for $1...but there's a catch

- Alex Zuniga says he’s a 'house flipper' and says his website is his way of giving back.

“I wanted to give back to people in a way they could get a home for one dollar,” said Zuniga. He says he is offering at least 1,500 people each month a chance to buy a house for $1.

“When you purchase a membership through our website, you get a number, that number is your number,” added Zuniga. “We put that number into a ticket tumbler along with the other members that purchased memberships.”

It sounds like a lottery, but Zuniga says it's not because the $199 membership fee buys you educational material on how to flip houses.

“It’s not a lottery because we are selecting our members,” said Zuniga.

But the Better Business Bureau is concerned.

“Yes, we definitely have concerns because in order to participate you have to pay and it’s a pretty hefty fee of 199 dollars,” said the Leah Napoliello with the BBB.

Zuniga admits one house is the first he has ever offered for a dollar and he says it’s appraised at $215,000. He also says if he doesn’t get a minimum of 1,500 memberships, anyone whose paid the $199 will get it back minus a small processing fee.
