Man charged with death of dog found in cage

Police have arrested and charged a Lansdale man with cruelty to animals following the death of a dog in Upper Dublin Township.

Charles McCafferty IV, 22, is facing numerous charges after his dog was found dead back on March 9th.

Police say McCafferty's Staffordshire Terrier was found deceased inside a metal cage covered in plastic in Willow Grove.

The Montgomery County SPCA and Upper Dublin Police conducted an investigation leading to McCafferty's arrest. The Upper Dublin Township Police also thanked members of the community for their outpouring of support and concern during the investigation.

McCafferty was charged with cruelty to animals and related offenses.
