After a woman in the Cypress area told Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constables that her husband was married to multiple women, an investigation determined that he was still legally married to another woman in Michigan.

The deputy constables had arrived to Nathaniel D’Amato's home on Cluster Pine Drive near Marron Court in northwest Harris County on April 30 to speak to his wife.

After he was arrested, 46-year-old D'Amato appeared in probable cause court on Tuesday on the bigamy charge, a third degree felony offense. Bond was set for D'Amato at $10,000.

A probable cause court document indicates that D'Amato married a woman in the Michigan town of Rochester Hills, north of Detroit, on New Year's Eve 1998.

D'Amato's current wife said that the two of them wed on April 21 and that she learned of the Michigan marriage on April 27.
