HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Almost ten years since the death of a man who was shot at a southwest Houston restaurant, police have arrested the murder suspect. The shooting was reported on Dec. 13, 2006 at the Cajun Kitchen restaurant on Bellaire Boulevard near South Kirkwood Road. The restaurant space is the current location of Pho A Hung by Night.
Happy Tran Pham, 30, was charged with murder on Dec. 15, 2006 after the shooting victim, Pierre Mai, died at Ben Taub General Hospital. Homicide investigators say Mai was eating at the restaurant with friends when someone entered the building, pulled out a weapon and shot him.
As the shooter ran away from the restaurant, an employee ran after him and fired multiple pistol shots toward the man that shot Mai.
Members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offender's Task Force took Pham into custody on Monday.
