Man arrested for murder of Angleton couple, child

The Wharton County Sheriff's Office says a man was arrested for the murder of a couple and their child whose possible remains were found nearly a week after they went missing.

Warrants for three offenses of murder were served on Robert Satterfield at the Fort Bend County jail on Saturday night.

Investigators believe Satterfield is responsible for the deaths of Ray Shawn Hudson Sr., 28, Maya Victoria Rivera, 24, and Ray Shawn Jr., 5. The couple and their son had not been seen by family since June 10.

We talked with Rivera's mother who tells us Monday was Ray Jr.'s birthday.

Frances Rivera says, "they we had already made plans for little Ray’s birthday we were just going to do something small, cake and ice cream and so when that day came and gone and I never heard anything, I didn’t know what to think I was really trying to just stay calm you know but it was when her employer called me that really got me concerned”. Rivera worked as a massage therapist and hadn't show up for work Wednesday.

According the the sheriff's office, a tip led deputies and Texas Rangers to a privately owned property located in rural Wharton County where skeletal remains were located. The remains are unidentifiable because they were burned, investigators say, but they are consistent of those of an adult and child. Based on witness statements and this information, investigators say the remains are believed to be those of Hudson, Rivera, and their son.

The case is still under active investigation.
