Man and his pup escape after 8 ft of water rise around their Houston-area home

During the epic flooding after Hurricane Harvey, many Texans decided to get out any way they could, even if it meant walking through chest-high water. One flood victim told our FOX 26 reporter that 8-ft of water surrounded his home.  That's when he knew it was time to get out. When he was invited to get a ride in a military humvee after the intense flooding struck his neighborhood, he just responded that he'd rather not.

"Sir, you ok? Like to hop in this large vehicle? He answered that he wanted to walk instead, "I need to stir my blood." One sign that not even an epic flood can take the true grit and determination out of a strong Texan.
