Preparations for Harvey in Fort Bend County

We continue to track Tropical Storm Harvey, and whether Harvey is heading for us or not officials in Fort Bend County are gearing up for this weekend.

It's the low lying areas near the Brazos River, underpasses, and construction areas that residents and county officials are worried about the most. TXDOT says the construction zone will be cleared if the roads need to be opened for evacuation. Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management says they are monitoring the situation closely.

Alan Spears of Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management says, "We've had conference calls with the state, we've had conference calls with the National Weather Service. We will start having conference calls with our local partners, the cities, and the other departments things like that. So it will be a continuing process until, until we're done."
