HOUSTON (FOX 26) - The sign on the door of the home Debra Davis and Rodney Johnson shared seems ironic now that she's accused of gunning him down.
It says "No Guns Allowed."
People in the neighborhood are stunned this happened.
"They didn't seem like they were violent people or nothing. I'm surprised. Very surprised. " said neighbor Tommy Lee Harris.
It's was 11:40 on Tuesday night. Johnson was on Cathedral Dr. in Southeast Houston visiting his girlfriend when Debra showed up.
They argued and then she pepper sprayed him. She drove off and then returned with a gun. Police say he taunted her and she opened fire and drove off again.
"The girlfriend is a witness to the whole episode, so the information we have right now we feel is pretty accurate and we're looking to talk to the suspect," said Ofc. Fil Waters with HPD homicide.
Debra later turned herself in.
But Rodney wasn't the only one with a secret.
Debra couldn't have been his common-law wife because she herself is still married.
Johnson wasn't just her live-in boyfriend, he was Davis's daughter's father-in-law.
That's right, Davis's daughter and Johnson's son are married.
Their quiet home with the ironic sign was a house of secrets.
"No idea, no idea at all. They seemed like they were happy people. You never know," said neighbor Rushie Johnson shaking head.
