HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Houston Independent School District varsity football games scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24, have been moved to earlier times as a precautionary measure because of pending inclement weather and the related potential for dangerous road conditions.
HISD officials have been closely monitoring the weather forecast and have determined that storms and heavy rains predicted for parts of the Houston area may make for dangerous driving Saturday evening. As a result, all six HISD varsity football games will be held earlier in the day. The location for one of the games also has changed. A new schedule is below.
Milby vs. Chavez - Barnett Stadium-11 a.m.
Wheatley vs. Washington - Barnett Stadium - 2:30 p.m.
Madison vs. Sharpstown - Butler Stadium - 11 a.m.
Houston vs. Bellaire - Cowart Stadium - 11 a.m.
Davis vs. Yates - Dyer Stadium (Location Changed) - 1 p.m.
Lamar vs. Westbury - Delmar Stadium - 11 a.m.
No other district events are affected at this time. Questions about campus-based events should be referred to campus administrators.
