Family locates body of missing man in San Luis Pass

HOUSTON - A family member of the missing man called Coast Guard search coordinators Monday morning, reporting she and other family members found his body in the water by the shore, near where he went missing in San Luis Pass.

Stephen Espedal, 37, went missing after he attempted to rescue a woman Sunday evening.

Authorities believe a strong current pulled him under.

Coast Guard crews searched throughout the night with other responders, but were unable to locate him.
