Memorial service held for Kemah Police Chief Chris Reed

A memorial service is being held for Kemah Police Chief Chris Reed.  

Reed's body was found by the Galveston County Marine Unit on June 9 after he was was knocked over from his boat by a passing boat and went under water. He did not resurface.

The memorial is being held on Friday, June 14, at 10 a.m. at Clear Creek Community Church (located at 999 Egret Bay Blvd N.

A Police Honors Service will be held outdoors on the steps of the church, immediately following the memorial service. 

A public procession will follow. Kemah residents and business owners can show their support by lining the procession route. The route will be from FM 270 to SH 96, East to SH 146, North on SH 146 past Kemah City Hall/Police Department, to NASA Rd 1, West onto NASA Rd 1 where the procession will turn south onto FM 270 and end at the church.

Reed was also a former paratrooper in the Army, an MMA fighter, a referee, a coach and a member of the Clear Creek ISD board of trustees.
