HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Deputies say the man who robbed two separate toll booths at gunpoint a week ago is behind bars. Within eyesight of the Sam Houston Toll Road deputies arrested 36 year old Cleveland Quinn Hill at the Almeda Inn.
Surveillance video shows him New Year’s Eve robbing one toll booth and hours later another. Deputies say he used both his wife and girlfriend’s cars to commit the crimes. Deputies got a tip from an anonymous source.
“The source from my information had stated she had seen mugshots from the media and knew the suspect was wanted in aggravated robbery cases, and she feared for her life,” Lt. Aneil Sharma with Harris County Constable Precinct 7 said.
Deputies found Hill Thursday afternoon at the motel where they say he had been staying for several days. When they saw him they say he was walking to a car with another man.
“He was warned to surrender or we would use whatever force necessary in this case and keeping in mind that this suspect was supposedly armed,” Sharma said.
Deputies later recovered a handgun from Hill’s room. They say he has an extensive criminal record.
“Hopefully we'll be able to close other cases where he was involved and we got a very dangerous person off the streets,” Sharma said.
Hill was booked at 1201 Commerce and is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery.
