Some Houston area college students are demanding a public apology from the Sheriff and District Attorney over allegations they tried to discredit the Black Lives Matter Movement...

Members of the Southern Student Leadership Association held a press conference Tuesday afternoon at the SHAPE Community Center.

The group says the day after Harris County Deputy Darren Goforth was killed Sheriff Ron Hickman and District Attorney Devon Anderson blamed the Black Lives Matter movement.

However, Anderson made it clear today her comments were not meant to divide but bring all races of the community together.

We reached out to Sheriff Hickman's office for a comment but we have yet to get a response to the allegations made by the students.
