Brazen Houston package thief caught on camera

First you see two cars slowly driving in front of a southeast side house.

Precinct 8 deputy constables believe the two are working together.

“We’re not a 100 percent sure that the two vehicles are associated,” said Sergeant Wayne Gerrish with Precinct 8. “But it was seen twice in close proximity of the Dodge Caliber.”

The thief backs into the driveway and opens the trunk.

He goes to the front door and grabs packages that were delivered by UPS about 20 minutes earlier.

“We have a lot of package thefts because this is the time of year we see a lot more packages delivered," said Gerrish.

“I was furious,” said Gabriel Rincon when he discovered his packages were stolen. “I felt like I can’t leave anything around my house.”

The homeowner told us there was about $300 worth of kitchen equipment in the stolen packages.

Law officers recommended monitoring the tracking software for items being delivered and if you can’t be at home have packages delivered to your place of employment or a relative's home.

You can also contact FedEx and UPS and tell them you’ll pick up the packages at the office that’s closet to you.

If you recognize the thief in the video or his vehicle your asked to contact the Precinct 8 Constables Office.
