Assaults on METRO light rail caught on tape

- There were multiple assaults caught on tape and it happened on the NRG light rail platform last Saturday after the Texans game.

In the train surveillance video you'll see a man identified as Jose Sanchez being taken down to the ground by a Metro police officer.

He is described as both the victim and the aggressor in the incident with multiple witnesses.

Those on the scene say Sanchez was slapped in the face by a woman who was standing just off the train.

Sanchez was accused of using provocative language when the woman slapped him. That woman just happens to be Sophie Simien, the executive assistant to the C.E.O. of Metro Tom Lambert.

After Simien slaps Sanchez while on the train there is an argument that follows.  Simien's son in law and off duty HPD officer Andrew Cole gets involved and Sanchez either punches him or pushes him in the face.

That's when officer Cole hops on the train and yells he's HPD and then reaches for what witnesses say is his gun.

When the dust settles Simien, who works for Metro, was released by the officers despite slapping Sanchez first.

As for Sanchez he was described as intoxicated and taken to the city's sobering center.

According to Metro he chose not to file any charges against Simien for slapping him.

A spokesperson for the Houston Police Department says their review in the incident while Metro says their employee was off the clock when the incident happened.
